"Walela Live in Concert" is an inspirational musical journey of the spirit, recorded live in Dallas at the Kalita Humphreys Theatre, featuring the talents of Rita Coolidge, Priscilla Coolidge and Laura Satterfield singing 12 of their most memorable songs. The film gives a close-up experience of the group in a natural and inspired manner.
Walela means "hummingbird" in Cherokee. A Hummingbird is a small, but powerful symbol to many Native American tribes. The music group Walela began as a promise made by Rita and Priscilla Coolidge to their grandmother, to use their voices to honor Native Americans.
It won Best Music Video at the 2005 Native American Music Awards.
